Expert Profile

Muhammad Faiz bin Mohd Hanapiah graduated with a Bsc. (Hons) in Biotechnology from IIUM. Upon completion his degree, he pursued his study and obtained Msc. Biosciences in IIUM. His Master thesis was on coral recruitment pattern in Tioman Island, Malaysia. He then continued his work in coral research by investigating dispersal pattern of coral larvae in Kuantan coastal waters for his PhD, also in IIUM. He joined Kulliyyah of Science, IIUM as lecturer in 2020 in the Department of Marine Science. His main research interest is more towards sustainable coral ecosystem management by understanding coral distribution pattern, recruitment density, reproductive biology, dispersal capacity and also coral larval connectivity.
